Welcome to Steve's APBA Card Computer

Version 4.1
Applet Last updated 10/13/2014

Thanks for your observations and suggestions. I have gotten tons of great feedback about this page, and I appreciate your continued interest!

v 4.1 (10/13/14) - One piece of feedback was about the Hit Correction. (h/t Dick Moore - you were right that it's reduced.) I think it's not as large nowadays. ERAs were lower this year than any time since 1992 in the NL and 1981 in the AL. This *should* make the cards look a little more optimistic, but the pitchers will be better. We'll see. (Also changed a lot of the layout to Swing.)

v 4.0.1 (6/18/13) This version adds pitching grades (it's a first cut - we'll see how it comes out), and uses stats from Baseball Reference. Stats from the current year are "live".

To use the card computer:
  • Select a year from the season dropdown menu and then select a player from the list to the right of the card, OR

  • Fill in the top areas yourself to create a card matching what ever stats you desire. The card should change automatically in response to your stat inputs.

  • "Make One Column Cards" will force the cards to be computed without using the second column. Thanks to Bob Godby for suggesting this option!
  • Click here for release notes history. Thanks for visiting!
Any problems, please contact me and tell me about it.
    Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What's that "ER" on 53? A: That stands for "Error Number", which is not completely determined by the individual's statistics unless it has to be a 15 or 19 for HBP purposes.
Q: Do you do speed or fielding ratings? A: No. I'll do that for my card sets (obviously), but this card computer is for entertainment only. I really don't want to even get close to making a product that could be used as a replacement for buying APBA's card sets.
Q: How about printing? A: No, not yet. Mostly for the same reason. I'm working on a way to view multiple cards at a time, though. But I'm not promising anything.
Caveats: This page is under construction from time to time. This page is for entertainment only. The cards generated are NOT official APBA cards and should not be used with the game.
